授業の目的・概要 Objectives and Outline of the Course
都市環境における課題を、技術的側面と社会的側面に切り分け、それぞれの課題を整理し、それに対して建築設計や都市計画がどのように対応できるのか、あるいは対応すべきなのかを、具体的な実例を挙げながら学んでいく。ここでは、実際の環境設計の実践からマネジメントの理論を学ぶことで、設計実務に役立つ知識を体系的に身につけることを目指す。
Examples and case studies in this lecture series illuminate the technical and social aspects of urban-environment issues to enable students to learn how to determine best architectural design and urban planning responses and become able to identify specific actions which contribute to amelioration. Students will systematically acquire knowledge useful to design practices by learning management theory developed through actual environmental design practice.

授業の目的・概要
Objectives and Outline of the Course

都市環境における課題を、技術的側面と社会的側面に切り分け、それぞれの課題を整理し、それに対して建築設計や都市計画がどのように対応できるのか、あるいは対応すべきなのかを、具体的な実例を挙げながら学んでいく。ここでは、実際の環境設計の実践からマネジメントの理論を学ぶことで、設計実務に役立つ知識を体系的に身につけることを目指す。

Examples and case studies in this lecture series illuminate the technical and social aspects of urban-environment issues to enable students to learn how to determine best architectural design and urban planning responses and become able to identify specific actions which contribute to amelioration. Students will systematically acquire knowledge useful to design practices by learning management theory developed through actual environmental design practice.

1.	イントロダクション	講義全体の流れを概観し、またレポート執筆の基本原則について講義する。
1.	Course Overview	This introduction to the Design Management of Urban Environments course provides an overview of the course and a lecture on the requirements for papers and assignments. Papers are referred to as "reports."
2.	都市設計史１　城下町の継承	日本の多くの都市は城下町を期限としているが、それらはどのように設計されており、それが近代以降どのように継承されてきたかについて講義する。
2.	History of Urban Design 1	Most Japanese cities originated as late 16th to early 17th century castle towns. Become acquainted with their characteristic spatial orientation and ways in which they developed into modern cities.
3.	都市設計史２　近代の都市計画	近代は都市計画の時代であった。三都における都市計画のあり方、また企業城下町の都市形成について概観する。
3.	History of Urban Design 2	Modern times ushered in an age of urban planning. This overview covers how three cities were planned and discusses the formation of the modern replacement, the "corporation town."
4.	都市設計史３　近代の都市文化	近代都市では民間の力も花開いていた。勧工場から百貨店、喫茶店とカフェー、郊外地開発までさまざまな事例を追う。
4.	History of Urban Design 3	Modern era cities witnessed a general flourishing of private sector enterprises. Early versions of the department store with origins in markets, fairs and bazaars are referred to as kankoba and hakkaten. These, along with cafes and tea houses, are described as is the development of areas outlying cities, the "suburbs."
5.	都市設計史4　都市空間の再生	歴史的な都市空間は現代においてどのように再生、マネジメントされてきたのか。全国各地の事例について紹介する。
5.	History of Urban Design 4	Historically, how has urban space been revitalized and managed in modern times? Examples from all over Japan provide a comprehensive understanding of this aspect of urban design history.

7.	単体の建築と都市の関係の考察	都市においてその一部を成す単体の建築が持ち得る意味や都市への影響、また建築家が担うべき役割について、建築家村野藤吾の言説や思想を通して考察する。
7.	Consider the relation of architectural constructions to the city	What is the impact of individual buildings on an urban environment? This question and the role architects should play are examined through the discourse and philosophy of Togo MURANO, an architect recognised for his mastery of the modern-sukiya style.
8.	都市における経験と建築の関係の考察	都市施設を利用するユーザーが持ち得る空間体験を含めた経験に着目し、建築の成立基盤と都市との関係をユーザーエクスペリエンスの視点から考察する。
8.	Consider the relation between experience and architecture in the city	Consider the spatial experience of the urban environment and focus on the spatial experiences users of urban facilities can have. How do users view the relationship between fundamental building arrangements and the city as a whole?
9.	法規制による都市と建築の関係の考察	都市における具体的な法規制の考察を通して、建築の成立基盤と都市との関係を景観の視点から考察する。
9.	Consider the relation between architecture and urban environments	Through examining specific city regulations and building codes we consider the relationship between the origins and development of architecture, and cities from the viewpoint of landscape.
10.	具体的事例による都市施設の考察	実在する具体的な都市施設の分析を通して、建築の成立基盤と都市との関係を総合的な視点から考察する。
10.	Analysis of concrete examples of municipal facilities	Through the analysis of concrete examples of existing urban facilities, we will consider the relationship between the origins and development of architecture, and cities from a comprehensive perspective.
11.	ミュージアムと地域設計１　近代日本のミュージアムと都市	都市施設と地域の関係を、美術館・博物館などのミュージアムに着目して考察していくため、日本のミュージアムの歴史と都市との関係を概観する。
11.	Planning and Management 1 Museums and Cities in Japan	In order to consider the relation between urban facilities and , this lecture outlines the history of museum and relation to the city.
12.	ミュージアムと地域設計２　文化ゾーンの形成とミュージアム	いくつかの都市を事例に、文化ゾーンの形成とミュージアムの関係を解説する。
12.	Planning and Management 2 Museums and "Cultural Zones"	With examples from several cities, we will examine the relationship between museums and the formation of 'cultural zones.'

特になし本学では1単位当たりの学修時間を45時間としています。毎回の授業にあわせて事前学修・事後学修を行ってください。
None Please note that KIT requires 45 hours of study from students to award one credit, including both in-class instructions as well as study outside classes. Students are required to prepare for each class and complete the review after each class.
